SVP of Product Development and Publishing at Nintendo Treehouse Comments on Shiver’s Identity

Nintendo Treehouse’s own SVP of Product Development and Publishing Nate Bihldorff debunked the theory that Shiver, one of the new idols in Splatoon 3, is non-binary to The Verge. Bihldorff clarified that Shiver will use she/her pronouns and identifies as female. He further clarified that, while the pronouns weren’t used in the Direct presentation, they are used within the game itself.

This is certainly unfortunate news to some, especially those who have longed for representation in media, but it seems to be have just been a coincidence.
